Open Dutch nationals
We would like to invite the OK dinghy sailors of your country to compete in the Open Dutch nationals OK dinghy on the 25th and 26th of August 2018. The championship will take place on the 20 square kilometer inland lake Tjeukemeer near the town of Oosterzee (pronounced as yestersay and in Frisian written as Eastersee) in the Netherlands.
The nationals will be sailed during the Eastersee Regatta, an international OK dinghy regatta that celebrates it's fifth anniversary in 2018. We have three previous winners in Frank Strelow (2014 & 2015), Dirk Dame (2016) and Joerg Rademacher (2017), all from Germany. Last year fourty-six OK sailors from seven nations (France, Great Brittain, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg and Germany) brought their OK dinghies to Oosterzee. We hope on a similar fleet this year.
Camping is free during the weekend. There is room for tents and mobile homes. The camping site is next to the lake and on Saturday the beer is sponsored. For sailors the breakfast for Saturday and Sunday is included in the entry fee, as is the BBQ on Saturday evening. On Friday evening their is room for eating a plate at the local sports facilities. Sailors arriving earlier in the week, can contact us for arranging a place on the campsite.
